Scout.com reported Williams made his verbal commitment to Oklahoma State on April 18. But like a lot other verbally committed recruits, Williams said he still talks to other coaches.
“I’m remaining solid,” Williams said. “I’m still open to other colleges, just see what they have to offer.”
One of the other schools Williams has interest in is Arizona State.
“It’s still high,” Williams said. “I’m really considering taking an official visit there.”
Williams is still considering an official visit, even though he said he has not spoken to an ASU coach since April.
A 3-star prospect, the No. 5 ranked cornerback in Louisiana and the No. 16 corner in the South region, Williams is listed at 6-foot-0 and 171 pounds with a verified 40 time of 4.74.
Williams said he was offered a scholarship by ASU coaches last year during his junior high school football season. He said his interaction with the coaches when they offered him has kept him interested in the program.
“They were just down to earth with me,” Williams said. “(They said) that I could be a good asset to the school and just come down there and make and impact.”
Williams said he prides himself as a physical corner who can press. He said when he has talked with ASU coaches, they told him they want to use his skills in their defense.
“They told me they play a lot of bump and run coverages,” Williams said. “What they’ve seen on my highlight that I can do, they said that’s what makes me have an impact on their defense.”
He said he will be going back to OSU and Alabama for both schools summer camps. The OSU summer camp will be on June 14.
