The Opening: Cleveland to visit ASU

Houston-area wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland -- teammate of Arizona State quarterback target Dillon Sterling-Cole, had a breathtaking performance in the testing portion of The Opening. He's planning to visit the Sun Devils soon.

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- In a setting exclusively for the best high school football athletes in the country, nobody was more athletic than Tyrie Cleveland.

At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Cleveland had the best Nike Football Rating of all participants in Tuesday's testing phase.

A four-star wide receiver at Westfield High School in Houston, Texas, Cleveland ran an electronically timed 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash, blistered the short shuttle run in 3.94 seconds, had a 41.3 inch vertical jump and 40 foot powerball toss.

Final rating: 147.96, or 4.52 points higher than anyone else on the day.

Understandably, Cleveland is in high demand as a prospect, but the high school teammate of top Arizona State quarterback target Dillon Sterling-Cole said he hasn't ruled out the Sun Devils yet. In fact, he's planning to visit ASU in a couple weeks and subsequently cut his list to a Top-5.

Here, Cleveland spoke with us about recruiting and his remarkable performance at The Opening.
