Arizona State's recent recruiting success has been on full display through the first two days of newcomer practices in Tempe, with head coach Todd Graham calling it the best start to camp of his tenure. He decided to give credit to his staff for the job it has done in recruiting.
It's not just on the field where Graham is pleased though, as he said the talent has been matched or exceeded by what's "far and away" the best character team he's coached at ASU.
Freshman cornerback Kareem Orr had two interceptions in the evening session, but it wasn't all newcomers who shined.
Some returning players have been working with the newcomers to get a good split in practice and Graham said he's been impressed by defensive tackle Corey Smith, who missed last season after having surgery for bone spurs in his hip.
