With Arizona State putting pads on for the first time this summer it was an opportunity for players to show their physicality. Sun Devil head coach Todd Graham said they passed that test with flying colors.
"Very, very explosive, very mature as a team," Graham said. "Obviously we put the pads on and try to strain and stress them. Very mature with how they handled that."
Graham said he loved having the veterans and newcomers blended together and it's taken just three days for the Sun Devils to accomplish their six day install plan with the scheme. In that regard, the team is well ahead of schedule.
"First time since I've been here, tight ends knocking guys on the ground," Graham said, as an illustration of the physicalness on display.
