D.J. Calhoun is using his physicality and added strength and size at a new position this week: Devil backer. The sophomore said he's having a blast in the role.
Sophomore linebacker D.J. Calhoun is working at Devil backer this week in practice for the first time since joining the Arizona State program last summer.
Having already played at WILL and Spur, Calhoun said Devil is his favorite position to this point because of how attack oriented it is.
It doesn't hurt that Calhoun has added 30 pounds since arriving on the Tempe campus, a fact that isn't lost on the 6-foot-0, 220-pounder.
