Video: Longino on Devil backer work

Senior Arizona State linebacker Antonio Longino practiced at Devil backer with the first-team on Monday, a position he played early last season, but hasn't worked at this preseason until now.

The familiarity senior Antonio Longino has at the Devil backer position is a big asset to him as coaches explored the possibility of using him there this season for the first time in camp Monday.

Longino played Devil last season until being moved to the WILL 'backer spot when Arizona State transitioned to being more of a base four-down defensive look in the second half of the season, and flourished in that role.

ASU coach Todd Graham said following the practice he wants to explore the best way to enable the Sun Devils to get their four best linebackers -- Longino, senior SAM Salamo Fiso, junior Spur Viliami Moeakiola, and sophomore WILL/Devil D.J. Calhoun -- on the field together.

Longino said he doesn't have a preference, as long as he's on the field somewhere.
