Video: Simone on chess match with Bercovici

Senior Arizona State safety Jordan Simone said he had two interceptions against his housemate and close friend, senior quarterback Mike Bercovici in the team's Monday morning practice. Following the session, Simone discussed the daily chess match the two have on the football field.

Arizona State senior safety Jordan Simone knows the program's offense better than anyone who will line up against the Sun Devils this season.

Simone also knows senior ASU quarterback Mike Bercovici better than any Pac-12 foe, after all, the two are roommates and best friends.

The players are also two of the most cerebral and advanced on the Sun Devil roster as it relates to their understanding of the game.

On Monday, Simone said he had two interceptions of Bercovici, an indication that at least on this day came out on top in the chess match the two play on the football field on a daily basis.

Watch what Simone had to say about the battle within the battle he has with his fellow team captain, and the Sun Devils' overall defensive capability in 2015.
