Scout100 defensive end ready to see ASU

Elite national defensive end prospect Isaiah Chambers has set an official visit with Arizona State for its rivalry game against Arizona.

Isaiah Chambers is one of the top defensive prospects in the country and has started to plan out his official visits.

Fortunately for Arizona State, the four-star Scout100 defensive end wants to visit Tempe, Ariz.

Chambers, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end from MacArthur High School in Houston, Tex., confirmed he will officially visit ASU Nov. 21. The Sun Devils host rival University of Arizona that weekend.

Frequent communication with ASU coaches over the summer kept Chambers' attention.

“(My interest is) pretty high,” Chambers said. “I’ve been talking with them a lot and I just want to get a chance to get up there.”

Chambers is ranked No. 78 overall nationally regardless of position. He is the No. 2 defensive end in Texas and the Midlands and is the No. 9 defensive end in the country.

On Chambers’ official visit to ASU, he wants learn more about the program, the game day traditions and the coaching staff. He wants it to be an exciting atmosphere inside Sun Devil Stadium.

“(I want it) to be pretty loud, a lot of fans,” Chambers said.

Chambers said he has been recruited mostly by ASU defensive line coach Jackie Shipp. On his official visit, Chambers said he will study how coaches interact with the defensive linemen specifically and find out if the ASU coaches are genuine with their interest in him.

Chambers said ASU was the second school to offer him a scholarship and that meant a lot to him.

“It shows how bad they wanted me,” Chambers said.

Even this late in the recruiting stage, Chambers said he does not have any schools leading his recruitment.
