Former Stanford Commit Chacho Ulloa Has Re-Opened His Recruitment. Does ASU have a shot?

Corona (Calif.) Centennial defensive back Chacho Ulloa committed to Stanford back in mid-October but decided Tuesday night to re-open his recruitment.

Husky standout safety Chacho Ulloa decided to open up his recruitment and sent out the following tweet on Tuesday.

Ulloa chose the Cardinal after narrowing his choices to also include Arizona State and Notre Dame. He also held offers from schools like Boise StateCalColoradoMichigan StateNebraskaOregon StateUtahWashington State and Wisconsin.

Ulloa told us Tuesday that he's wide open to anyone and everyone right now and is basically starting from scratch. We have heard Notre Dame has filled up at safety but ASU along with Vanderbilt have reached out and Oregon will be by the school next week.

Whoever lands Ulloa will be getting a special player with some unique qualities. He might be the most instinctual safety out West and is always around the football. He was always good for at least one turnover a game, whether that was causing a fumble, picking off a pass or recovering a fumble.

He's a better athlete than given credit for and is solid in pass support. He really excels as a run stuffer and is a sure tackle who loves the physical side of the game. He has a great work ethic off the field and is a tremendous student as well.
