Role model:  "My grandmother. Just because I see everything she's gone through. She's such a strong woman and the way she carries herself and everything she's been through, it is just inspiring and shows that anything can be accomplished."

Best sports memory: "Definitely winning a state championship. It kind of felt like a dream when it happened, I couldn't believe it. It was a great experience."

On the first time he knew he was good enough to play at the next level: "I always had faith in myself since freshman year since that's when I started playing football like that. But when I really started noticing it was sophomore year when I went to Chandler. That's when it all clicked."

On moving to ASU and being on his own: "I just really have got to be responsible. I've got to work on waking up, getting to classes on time, doing everything I need to as far as taking care of my responsibilities."

Why ASU: "I picked ASU honestly because of my grandmother. If I would have gone out of the state, she probably would have gone back to the Caribbean, which I didn't want. I wanted her to be able to come to my games and see me play. I just feel like since she brought me here from the Caribbean, I owe that to her. I owe at the very least for her to be able to come and see me play."

On ASU wide receivers coach Del Alexander: "He's a great guy, a great guy. He and I see eye to eye very well, we agree on a lot of stuff. I think as the years go by, we are going to just continue to build that relationship. He always emphasizes how he's going to have me from Day 1 as a freshman so just how much room I have to grow as a player. It's about how much work I put in and how my effort I put in to reach my full potential."

On his goals for his freshman season: "My main goal is just to be the best version of myself that I can be. Of course I want to play and do really well but it's about competing with myself."

On his signing day plans: "It's going to be a great moment for Chase and I, just being the great friends that we are. We've been dreaming about this since we were little. I know it's going to be a really emotional day and a great day for us and our family, and also for B.J. (Byron Murphy) who is a brother to us and we want him to be successful and happy wherever he goes."
