On the first time he knew he was good enough to play at the next level: "It came to me my junior year when I started getting my looks, started getting that attention. It put a light on me that I have to start working harder just to make it."

On moving to ASU and being on his own: "It's just all surreal, a blessing to be here, walking on camps and everything. It's like, 'wow you actually made it.'"

Why ASU: "It's the Oklahoma connection. All the coaches here from Oklahoma, coach Graham, coach Patterson and coach Brown."

On ASU offensive line coach Chris Thomsen: "I played with his cousin at NEO so I've been talking with him a lot these past weeks." 

On his goals for his freshman season: "My goal is to have at least six interceptions this year and 30 solo tackles."
