The latest update on quarterbacks, an important position switch on defense and some recent standouts highlight a review of Arizona State's latest spring practices.

Here's a look back at the most recently completed week of Arizona State's spring practice schedule, including:

-- With just three practices remaining in Arizona State's spring training, the three-headed quarterback race remains very competitive, with redshirt freshman Bryce Perkins playing well of late after some struggles earlier on. Offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey said following Friday's practice that the battle should continue well into August. 

-- ASU coach Todd Graham said Friday that star defensive player Laiu Moeakiola will be moving from Spur to field safety in August when physically cleared from his off-season shoulder surgery. We explore the potential benefits and drawbacks of such a move. 

-- Which players have surprised us with impressive play of late? On offense, younger names including redshirt freshman offensive linemen Zach Robertson, sophomore wideout Jalen Harvey and sophomore tight end JayJay Wilson. On defense, it's converted running back De'Chavon Hayes at cornerback as well as redshirt freshman George Lea at tackle and oft-injured reserve veteran linebacker Carlos Mendoza.
