ASU Football: Brady White reflects on start of fall camp

Arizona State redshirt freshman quarterback Brady White spoke after practice about the excitement of getting back on the field this fall.

After a summer dedicated to watching film, working out and studying the Arizona State playbook, redshirt freshman quarterback Brady White didn't hide his excitement about getting back on the practice field for the start of fall camp on Wednesday morning.

"You’ve got to approach every rep like it’s your last," White said. "I know you guys hear that, it’s a cliche, but you never know when this sport could end. You’ve just gotta have a great respect and appreciation for this game. That’s what I have for this game. I’m very blessed to be here. Very appreciative of all the opportunities I have."

White is one of four ASU quarterbacks competing for the team's starting role this fall, and the Newhall, Calif. product said his mentality throughout fall camp will center on keeping the game stress-free and enjoying the opportunity presented to him.

"I said it earlier in the spring, I just try to keep it stress-free," White said. "I just try to enjoy this game, because we're all very blessed to be in this position, to be at this level. I'm very grateful for that. That's one thing I've kind of told myself in my own head, don't stress yourself out, don't be too worried about anything. Just go out, play the game, you've done it before. Now it's a little elevated, the performance, but it's just fun, man. This is football."

White split first team reps with sophomore Manny Wilkins on Wednesday morning, and you can track each quarterback's results in the Devils' Sanctuary forum on
