Even though three of his high school teammates committed to Arizona State back in June, four-star safety K.J. Jarrell wasn't quite ready to offer his pledge to the Sun Devils.
It wound up taking Jarrell much longer to settle on the Sun Devils, but when he did, it marked one of the most important commitments ASU received in its 2017 recruiting class.
The No. 5-rated player in the state of Arizona and the 28th ranked safety nationally, Jarrell chose ASU over a pair of Pac-12 finalists, USC and Cal. Jarrell also reported scholarship offers from Arizona, Colorado, Louisville, Michigan State, Mississippi State, UCLA, Utah and Washington among others.
