Arizona State's coaching staff picked up a commitment from running back Trelon Smith over seven months ago, and though plenty has changed since Smith first pledged to the Sun Devils, he stuck to his word and signed with the program Wednesday.
A three-star prospect out of Cypress Ridge High in Houston, Texas, the 5-foot-8, 180-pound Smith chose ASU over reported offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Purdue, Southern Methodist and others. Smith is ranked as the No. 36 running back nationally and the No. 6 running back out of the state of Texas.
