With an Alabama transfer and a former Crimson Tide assistant coach joining Arizona State's football program this offseason, the Sun Devils' upcoming quarterback competition picked up some Southern flavor.
Following the departure of offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, ASU head coach Todd Graham hired Alabama wide receivers' coach Billy Napier to lead the Sun Devils' offense, becoming the program's third coordinator in three seasons.
Napier will take over a unit and start with a "clean slate," even though the program returns incumbent starter, junior Manny Wilkins, at the quarterback position.
Prior to Napier's arrival, the Sun Devils signed four-star transfer quarterback Blake Barnett, who's already familiar with Napier after spending the 2015 season and four games of the 2016 season with the Crimson Tide.
With spring practices on the horizon, ASU hosted a mini media day Wednesday, where SunDevilSource had a chance to catch up with each of the five quarterbacks as well as Graham and hear their thoughts on how the offense will take shape under Napier and what they're looking forward to this spring.
