Standout Offensive Lineman Visits ASU

One of the top offensive linemen in the West, Aaron Klovas out of Bethel high school in Spanaway, Washington officially visited Arizona State this past weekend and not considered the Sun Devils among his five favorites. Find out more in this exclusive DevilsDigest interview.

"Everything was great except for how hot it was," remarked Aaron Klovas, the 6-6 300 monster tackle rated as the best offensive linemen in the state of Washington by "It was like a 50 degree difference going from where I was (in Washington) to Tempe, and that made it a bit miserable, but all the players say you get used to it, so I'm going to try not to use that as a determining factor."

"Other than that, everything was really nice," he continued. "The things that really stood out where the coaching staff – they're real tight – and the players were all great. Getting to spend time with the coaches and players was a good thing."

Hosted on his visit by Mike Pollak and Brandon Rodd, Klovas was able to take a tour of the "top notch" facilities including the now-infamous Sports Illustrated-praised weight room, and also meet with academic advisors from the business school.

Klovas had been concerned about the interest level of the Sun Devils heading into the trip, but while in Tempe, everything was apparently explained to his satisfaction. "Well, early on they were really in on me and then they kinda dropped off," Klovas commented. ASU kept coming in and out and I didn't know what to think about that. But on my trip they explained the situation and I was fine with that."

"[Arizona State] would be in my top five right now," said Klovas. "I'm still looking at the three Northwest schools – Washington, Washington State and Oregon – but I haven't set up other official visits yet, and then the other two schools I'm still looking at are UCLA and Oklahoma."
