ASU Visit ‘Set the Standard' for Marshall

Cornerback Uriah Marshall has never made it a secret that the Sun Devils are one of his favorite schools. His trip to Tempe this past weekend did nothing but reinforce that notion. However, was that enough for him to pull the trigger and verbally commit?

"I still want to visit Cal and Washington," said the 6-0 183 Marshall. "I know that ASU is my top school, and I wanted them to be the first visit to set the standard before I visit other schools. I have Washington this weekend, and we'll just take it from there." Marshall added that he has an in-home visit with ASU on Monday, but was skeptical of perhaps committing following that visit.

Judging by his remarks, his official visit to Tempe will be one that will be hard to follow. "It was great (smile)," said Marshall. "Every aspect was great. The team unity was a big focus of mine because they had a losing season, and I was wondering if the chemistry was the same. I could tell that the guys really believed in the system. That was big."

The Brophy Prep standout from Phoenix was hosted by his cousin and ASU running back Randy Hill. We asked him how much would that relationship factor in his decision. "That would have a lot weight (smile)," exclaimed Marshall. "I know a lot players on the team like Robert James and De'Andre Johnson. That's a big plus."

"Randy did a great job showing me around," continued Marshall. "From what I saw on the trip, I couldn't find any reason why not to go to ASU. They made everything perfect for me. All the questions I had concerning the team were answered in great fashion."

It seems that the only query, which remains unsolved, now is whether Marshall will eventually stay close to home and play for the hometown Devils.
