Freshman reliever Josh Blake notched his inaugural win in the maroon and gold. He surrendered a mere four hits and two runs in three innings. On the other hand, freshman starter Zechry Zinicola yielded four hits in only two innings.
The Sun Devils erupted for 19 hits by 11 different players. Jeff Larish led the way hitting 3-for-6, scoring a pair of runs, and amassing four RBI's. Larish along with top of the order teammates Dustin Pedroia, Travis Buck and Chris Cook hit 9-19 on Wednesday night.
Oddly enough, the visitors struck first and jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first, and enjoyed a 3-1 edge after two. Nevertheless, the Devils scored four runs in each of the third and fourth innings to take a commanding 9-3 lead. In the third it was Larish who's double drove in two runs. Colin Curtis and Joel Bocchi plated a pair of runners each in the fourth. ASU would add seven runs in the next four innings to open a gap that the ‘Pokes were unable to close.
