ASU Hoops Lands Second Lone Star State Recruit

The Arizona State Basketball team has capitalized again on the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas. After receiving earlier today a verbal from prize recruit Ike Diogu, Morill a fellow Texan and a teammate of Ike on their summer league team, will also sign a letter of intent with the Sun Devils on Wednesday.

Morill stands 6-6 225 and is a "tweener" forward, in the mold of current Sun Devil Awvee Storey. His coach at Sam Houston (TX) high school says: " Allen is a very powerful inside player, but he's working on expanding his shot. He does have a nice medium range jumper. He's very smart. He played on the varsity team since his freshman year which helped him get his Basketball smarts. He's a very good rebounder. Probably a better offensive player than a defensive one.

ASU showed some interest in Morill during the Summer, and reportedly backed off after that. Morill visited us a couple of weeks ago, and according to his coach had a great visit. "He loved the academics, the players, coaches, and even took in a Suns game." Other teams contending for his services were New Mexico, Tennessee, Tulsa, and Illinois.

Morill was believed to sign only during the second signing period because of he's still academically ineligible. Nevertheless, Morill is another solid signing that can add much needed inside presence to the Devils.
