In the first inning, the Devils jumped on the board first after Dustin Pedroia scored off an error and Jeff Larish crossed the plate after a Tuffy Gosewisch ground out. A Xardiel Cotto home run cut the Devil's lead in half at 2-1 in their half of the inning. A three run homerun by Dustin Pedroia in the second inning highlighted the seven run inning that gave ASU a 9-1 lead. Chris Cook's two run home run in the seventh inning extended the Devil's lead to 12-4, as they would end up winning the game 12-5.
Quentin Andes earned the win and improved his record to 4-1. Ty Marotz pitched three and two third innings, striking out five. Josh Blake made an appearance out of the bullpen, pitching the last two and two third innings.
The win improves ASU's record to 37-13 on the year as Pac-10 play continues this weekend when the Devils travel to Tucson to face Arizona for a three game series.
