The Devils used a combination of seven pitchers in the win. Quentin Andes (5-1) tabbed the win and Zechry Zinicola earned his seventh save of the year. Starter Brett Bordes was shelled for four runs in just one third of an inning pitched.
ASU took a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning after Travis Buck scored on a Tuffy Gosewisch groundout. Later in the inning, a Ryan McKenna single scored Jeff Larish and Josh Asanovich. Stanford came back to score four runs in their half of the first inning, but two throwing errors scored two runs in the second inning as ASU took the lead for good.
ASU added another two runs in the third inning, and a Jeff Larish grand slam in the sixth inning and a Josh Asanovich home run in the seventh inning gave ASU the 15-5 win.
Dustin Pedroia (two for five, two runs scored), Josh Asanovich (two for six, three RBI's, two runs scored), Jeff Larish (two for four, four RBI's, three runs scored), Joe Persichina (two for five), and Nick Cadena (two for two) all had multi-hit games.
ASU will find out at 9am Monday morning who and where they will be playing in Regional play, as it takes place next Friday-Sunday.
