ASU Prospect Isaiah Stanback

This much-coveted quarterback from Garfield HS in Seattle made his first stop on his official visits to Arizona State this past weekend. How did he like the atmosphere before the big game against Arizona?

"I was tripping when I walked into the stadium!" said the 6-3 192 quarterback. "It's nothing like high school. There were a lot of fans there, and that was great. I just loved all the facilities they had. I liked the fact that they offer tutoring. I loved the coaches. They were straight up with me, and didn't hold back anything."

Stanback is an extremely athletic player. "I'm a threat to either run or throw the ball. I do a good job of throwing on the run. But I've only been playing for four years, so I'm still learning the game. A lot of my play is instinct, so I want to learn the fundamentals so I can be better.

The quarterback said that many schools have been contacting him, but is very serious about a few schools, which are ASU, Washington (visit on 12/1), and USC (12/8). So what will your decision come down to? "I know it won't be academics, because I feel that this area is equal with all three schools. I nay take some more visits, so I don't know if I'll have a decision by the end of December. Academically, Stanback has already qualified. However, the perfectionist in hi wants to take his SAT again to get a better score.
