Offensive Lineman Had "Great" Visit To ASU

The Sun Devils are in great need of offensive linemen, and this fine California prospect has ASU on the top of his list.

As reported last week, one of the JC kids to visit ASU in their last home game was Tim Fa'aita (pronounced Fajita, juts like the dish…) from San Francisco City College. I talked to coach Hayes from that school who had nothing but praise for the 6-2 310 lineman: "He's very athletic and very much strong. He's a great prospect. We haven't lost a game since he's been here. We won the championship last year, and we're nationally ranked #1 this year. He's a complete player who can effectively run block and pass block. He's the fourth brother in his family to play here at our school, and all of them went on to play Division I ball."

Specifically on Fa'aita's ASU visit and other schools recruiting him, the coach said: "He had a great visit to ASU. He really enjoyed it, and he's strongly considering committing there. The only other visits he went on were Oregon St., and Indiana. I know that Wash. St., Utah, and Iowa are all interested. I'm not sure if he'll take anymore visits. It's been kind of hard for him to visit lately because of our playoffs. He was lucky that we had a bye week so he could visit ASU."

Tim Fa'aita is academically eligible. When I saw him on the sidelines, he seemed to have a permanent smile on his face. Now we all know why…
