Dexter Davis, a 6-2 235 defensive end from Phoenix's Thunderbird high school, visited ASU unofficially with his parents. "We wanted to talk to coach Koetter," he said. "We wanted to know about the academics and the benefits of the scholarship. I was looking at other schools and see who was going to offered me. I looked at UTEP and liked them a lot. But ASU is the right place for me." Ironically, Davis visited UTEP this past weekend. That was his only official visit to date.
Impressive facilities, good coaches, and proximity to home were other reasons that lured Davis to the maroon and gold. He told us that he's being recruited by the Devils as a defensive end. Academically he's qualified with a 3.4 GPA and 1070 SAT score. "I wanted to get this decision over with and enjoy my senior season," said Davis as to the timing of his decision.
