Vista Offensive Lineman Impressed by ASU Visit

Thomas Altieri, a 6-3 285 from Vista (Calif.) high school talked to DevilsDigest following his visit to Tempe.

"It was excellent," said Thomas Altieri about his visit. "I loved every minute of it and every aspect of it. I got to tour the school, meet with the academic advisors, eat the pre-game meal with the team, and meet the coaching staff and get to know them a little better. My host was Brandon Rodd, and I hung out a lot with him. He's an awesome guy."

"I was surprised how much the coaches were involved in every aspect of the student-athlete there," Altieri continued. "You can really tell that the coaches care about the kids and want the best for them. That really gave me a good feeling about ASU."

The offensive explosion against Washington State last Saturday didn't go unnoticed by the offensive lineman. "It definitely impressed me," he remarked. "Coach Meyers and I sat down and watched the game film. He showed me what the offense is all about and I really like it a lot."

Altieri held off on committing on the trip because: "I have nothing to compare this to being that this was my first trip. ASU is great, but I want to see what's out there still. I'm in the process of setting up a visit to Boise State, and I might go visit Colorado too."

Altieri carries a 3.4 GPA and is awaiting his SAT score.
