Texas Athlete Visits Tempe

DevilsDigest caught up with the coach of this gifted lone star state running back/wide receiver to get the latest on his recruitment with the Sun Devils.

Catron Houston, a 6-0 188 RB/WR from Spring Woods high school in Houston, Tex. visited ASU during the Washington State game. His coach Dwayne Eggerman said that his player had a good visit. "ASU has been recruiting him since early fall," said Eggerman. "The schools that he's seriously looking at besides ASU are Kansas State, LSU, Arkansas, and Texas Tech. He's probably going to visit all those schools."

On the season, Houston who runs a 4.43, has amassed 932 yards rushing (9.05 yards per carry) and 14 TD's, as well as 35 receptions for 621 yards and 7 TD's. "He's an all-purpose athlete," his coach claimed. "I see him as a wide receiver at the college level. He's an outstanding athlete and a playmaker. He's does a good job of cutting and running." Eggerman added that Houston is a semi-finalist of the Houston touchdown club player of the year.

The Spring Woods high school didn't anticipate Houston making a decision before January.
