Shasta Safety Looking For Quick Decision

For mid-year transfers, like Shasta's safety Zach Catanese, time is of the essence. With two official trips down and one to go, this ASU prospect would like to make a decision on December 15. DevilsDigest talked to him about his two other visits, as well as his upcoming one to Tempe.

"ASU asked to see my film two weeks ago, " said Zach Catanese. "I guess they like what they saw so they wanted me to visit. Coach Helfrich is recruiting me. They're recruiting me a free safety. I'm a pretty good cover guy (runs a 4.46), but I need to play the run better." Catanese added that he had five picks this last season.

The 6-3 215 Catanese already paid visits to San Diego State last weekend, and BYU just a couple of days ago. He talked about those two trips: "Both trips were great. They were different because they're different cultures. BYU is different, but they have unbelievable facilities. It seems like their town is more dedicated to football that San Diego State. But both schools feel great." He added that Stanford and Oregon were in the mix at one point. However due to the December 15th signing date, he's not considering those schools.

Even though he hasn't set foot yet at ASU, he does have a favorable impression of the Sun Devils. "There a Pac-10 school, so that's a plus right there," he said. "I heard a lot of good things about it. Besides being too hot in the summer, I did hear a lot of good things (smile)." This weekend, hopefully he'll get witness the advantages as well.
