"It was an excellent trip," said the 6-7 310 Lee Tilley. "It was better than I expected. Tree (ASU player Tranell Morant) was my host and he showed me a good time. All the players and coaches I met were great people. I had some great food on the visit. I really enjoyed myself."
The four-star prospect attended the Arizona State-Oregon game, and while it was a disappointing loss he could help be impressed with the Sun Devil fans, especially the Hell Hogs group sitting in the student section. "Those are some hardcore fans," Tilley commented. "I was shocked that they knew my name and said that they wanted me to come to ASU. That was cool."
The Franklin Heights High School Standout is being recruited by ASU's offensive line coach Brent Myers, who gave him a strong sense of how the team's front five scheme operates. "He showed me a lot of film," Tilley said. "I got to learn a lot about his style of coaching. I also got to sit with the offensive linemen in their film sessions and meetings."
ASU marked Tilley's second official visit (Oklahoma being his first). His only other scheduled trip is to LSU this weekend. The lineman could end up graduating in December, but is in no hurry to make a decision. "I just want to give everything more time to marinate before I decide."
Good things come to those who wait, and the Sun Devils just might be the ultimate winners of the Lee Tilley sweepstakes…
