Chaparral Star Chooses Hometown School

In the beginning there was a verbal offer from ASU. That fact in itself excited Kyle Williams who already was favoring the Sun Devils. When the official scholarship offer arrived in the mail this past Thursday, the running back did what he probably intended to do all along and commit to the maroon and gold.

"There were always my favorite team," said the 5-10 180 Kyle Williams. "My family didn't pressure me to stay close to home, but that's what I wanted to do. I always liked ASU and I'm excited to commit there."

Williams initially didn't commit to Arizona State because he was waiting to see if he would get any offers after his initial one from the Sun Devils. He did however reiterate that his commitment is "solid" and that he won't entertain any other offers that may come along.

Williams is ASU's sixth verbal commitment of the 2006 recruiting class.
