Butte Linebacker Explores His Options

Garrett Judah is still high on the Sun Devils, but does plan to visit other schools before signing as a mid-year transfer next month. Devils Digest caught up with him and got the latest on his recruiting.

Judah, who's being recruited by ASU offensive line coach Brent Myers, began his official visit circuit with a trip to the Sun Devils, and in December he will trip to a Pac-10 foe of Arizona State, as well as a Big 12 team. "I'm going to Missouri on December 2nd and Washington on the 9th," he said. "I'm also looking at Boise State and Kansas but I don't know if I'll get to visit them before signing day."

The Butte standout did reiterate that he hasn't taken ASU out of consideration and that he's been receiving a lot of attention from them. "They've been calling me a lot, and I haven't cooled off on them. I just want to take more visits and see what other options I have. I'm still gonna sign in December."

The linebacker is a preseason all-state selection, and has been an early target of the Arizona State staff since the summer, when they offered him a scholarship. The linebacker will be a two-for-two player in terms of eligibility.

The 6-4 228 Judah occupies the middle linebacker role for the Roadrunners, and the Sun Devils are recruiting him for the Will linebacker position. Butte is currently 7-3 and will close the season at home in the U.S. Bank Holiday Bowl on Nov. 26 against Sierra.
