Bereuter Verbals to ASU

The Macarthur (Tex.) linebacker pledged to Oklahoma State in the spring, but recently decided to re-open his recruitment. A week ago he visited Tempe, and after a few days of deliberation he decided to pull the trigger and commit to the Maroon and Gold.

"I called Coach Monachino Thursday night," said the 6-3 208 Jeff Bereuter. "I also talked to Coach Miller and Coach Koetter and they we all real happy that I committed. I felt comfortable with the coaching staff there, they have a lot of experience. I really liked the atmosphere there too."

"On a personal level it was hard to make that decision. Me and my family really got to know all of these coaches. But I had to do to what's best for me, and I think that Arizona State is a better fit for me."

The linebacker, who was voted 1st team all-district at his position, canceled a planned trip to Texas Tech due to his commitment to ASU. "I'm done with the whole recruiting process," said a laughing Bereuter. "I'm relived to have it over with."
