Ducks Drop Sun Devils in Eugene

It was an anemic offensive display in the first half, which improved in the last 20 minutes. An adequate defense in the opening stanza, turned porous in the second half. ASU's inability to put a consistent effort for 40 minutes cost them a possible shot at wining their first conference game, as Oregon prevailed at home 67-53.

Arizona State (6-8, 0-5 Pac-10) trailed from the opening tip-off until the final buzzer. Yet, Oregon (8-8, 2-2) never really ran way with the game, until the second half where they scored 42 of their 67 points shooting over 60%. The Sun Devils managed only 17 first-half points, and despite playing better in the second never got closer than six points.

Antwi Atuahene had a career-high 21 points to pace the Devils. Kevin Kruger chipped in with 13. On the night the visitors converted 39.6% from the field and were edged on the boards 32-29. Oregon was led by Aaron Brooks' 19 points.

ASU concludes its Oregon road trip with a trip to Corvallis on Saturday night as they meet the Oregon State Beavers.
