Dear Sun Devils,
I am writing to ask for your help on a very important matter. As you may recall, Angelo Richardson, a Sun Devil Wide Receiver recruit from Oakland, California, was tragically shot a few weeks back. Angelo is feeling better, and his fighting spirit is doing well. He is still in a rehab center, but will be getting out later this month.
Angelo is learning how to function without the use of his legs. He now has feeling in his abdomen, but nothing below the waist. His family and fiancé have been strong and faithful supporters.
When Angelo does leave the hospital, his life on the outside will be quite different. He will, at some point, need a special vehicle. He will need to find suitable housing for someone confined to a wheel chair. He will need continued rehabilitation and medical assistance. This all costs money.
To date, the Angelo Richardson Fund has received $7,000-$8,000. In my opinion, this fund got off to a bad start partly because of some unfortunate misinformation about how it would be managed. The Angelo Richardson Fund is being managed by Mike Keller (Sam's dad) and Doug Mathers, who is like a second father to Angelo.
I have spoken to both men and am quite confident in what they represent. I have personally donated to this cause and would ask that all of you consider helping out in any way you can. Also, if you know of other Sun Devils out there who are in a position to help, please forward this email to them as well.
