QB Commit Takes in First ASU Game

The school of choice for Nick Foles are the Sun Devils, so obviously traveling to Tempe, as he did last weekend, wasn't a novelty. Nonetheless, he did attend his first ever ASU game, a 38-3 victory over Stanford, which just added to his overall enjoyment during his trip.

"I had a great time touring the facilities again," said the 6-5 240 Nick Foles who visited Arizona State unofficially. "We watched the game, which was fun. That was the first time I actually got to see them playing in person. I got to talk a lot to (QB coach and offensive coordinator) Coach Wittke and his family. It was a nice time." Foles was accompanied by his mother, sister and girlfriend on the trip.

The Westlake (Tex.) standout from Austin, enjoyed talking to the trio of recruits from Homestead (Fla.) High School who were there on an official visit. "None of them committed, but there were all great guys and you could tell they had a good time on the trip," noted Foles. "I told them about why I committed to ASU, but mostly we just talked about our senior seasons and we were doing. We just got to know each other."

The Chaparrals are 5-1 on the year, and last Friday they defeated Bowie 59-21. That high scoring output has been the norm for Foles and his teammates in 2006. "We're leading the state in scoring (the Chaps average 44.6 points per game and scored a season-high of 74 points)," he said. "So we're doing well."

Foles hasn't visited the Sun Devils in an official capacity yet, but he does plan to do so sometime in December.
