Here's is how ASU's first-year players faired against Oregon State in the 44-10 loss in Corvallis.

Junior running back Ryan Torain finished with a tough 57 yards on nine carries. Torain injured his ankle in the second quarter and did not return to the action. True freshman Dimitri Nance carried the ball four times for six yards in the second half. Quarterback Danny Sullivan saw limited action late in the game, and did not complete either of his two attempts.

Defensive tackle Michael Marquardt had a busy afternoon and finished with five tackles against the Beavers. Linebacker Travis Goethel collected three stops while Mike Nixon and Gerald Munns each had a pair of solo tackles.

Justin Tryon had the tall task of defending the speedy Sammie Stroughter for much of the game. The junior cornerback notched four tackles and one pass break up. Safety Ryan McFoy had three solo tackles, one of those being for a loss.

Jonathan Johnson had a 65-yard punt in the second quarter, his longest of the season. Overall for the game the junior punted six times for a 45.3 yard average.
