Colin Parker, a defensive back from local Chandler Hamilton High School was Arizona State's first verbal commit of the current recruiting class. The son of former Sun Devil great Anthony Parker appreciated that fact that the maroon and gold have offered him a scholarship while he tore his ACL, and never reneged on their offer while he has been going through a lengthy rehab process. "Nothing has changed, ASU is still the school for me," he said. "I haven't changed my mind. If the opportunity is still there - I'll take it." When asked about his Husky teammate and fellow ASU commit wide receiver Kerry Taylor, he replied: "Kerry has not de-committed. He's shocked by the coaching change, but he has not de-committed…It all depends on the coach that comes to ASU."
Andre Ferguson, a linebacker from Redlands (Calif.) East Valley High School, was the last player to round out the list of ASU's 2007 commitments. Much like Parker, he still sees himself as a Sun Devil. "I really don't have a comment (on ASU's coach firing) – I'm still committed," said Ferguson. "Everything came so fast, my coach called me today and told me about it. We may talk to other schools, I don't know…" The linebacker is good friends with current ASU tight end Lance Evbuomwan, and Ferguson admitted that talking to his former high school teammate is helping him through this period of uncertainty.
Mike Marcisz, an offensive lineman from Livermore (Calif.) Granada High School, is also still on board with the maroon and gold. "I'm still committed," he noted. "There are no schools I want to look at. I'm not gonna make a decision (to possibly de-commit) until a new coach is named at ASU."
Terry Mixon, A five-star defensive back from Grossmont (Calif.) Junior College, is apparently the only Sun Devil verbal that is 100% de-committed from ASU. "I'm sad about what happened, but I'm glad it happened before I came there," said Mixon who's scheduled to graduate in the spring. "I'm a free agent right now. Schools like Cal, Ole Miss, Washington and Tennessee are already calling me. I'm gonna see who ASU announces as the head coach, but it's gonna be a tough situation because the old coaches already knew me so well."
