Ross Keeps Options Open

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez cornerback David Ross is a man of few words. He has narrowed down his list of favorites to two schools and is careful as to not tip his hand as to which of the two will ultimately be his school of choice. Devils Digest talked to Ross who visited the Sun Devils last weekend.

"It was a cool visit," said the 6-1 185 David Ross about his Arizona State trip. "I liked everything about it. I liked the environment, it's a nice city and there's a lot to do." The cornerback added that he was hosted by Sun Devil cornerback Rudy Burgess.

The corner notes former NFL cornerback Deion Sanders as his favorite cornerback at the next level, but claims that "I'm a more physical corner…I have good height and I can cover any receiver. I'd like to improve my speed (runs a 4.5), because you can never have enough speed." Dominguez high school was 13-1 in Ross' senior season. The cornerback is a four-star prospect who is nationally ranked 19th in his position.

Ross committed to Nebraska back in October and at the time decided to cancel all other visits. Yet aside from visiting ASU, he also tripped to Oregon State the weekend before last. His first visit was back also in October to Colorado. Thus, with all these schools in the mix has he settled on his college destination? "I'm just gonna keep things to myself and let everyone know when signing day comes," he replied. "I'm not really considering any other school but ASU and Nebraska. I'm not taking any other visits and it's basically between those two schools."
