Cook Mulling His Options

Recruiting season has been relatively quiet for Alex Cook. That's until the last seven or so days, where the Blinn College (Tex.) defensive end has visited three schools. Which schools made the final cut for this four-star defensive end? Devils Digest talked to four-star prospect following his visit to the Sun Devils that ended today.

"It was a great visit," said the 6-4 235 Alex Cook. "I met the football team. The coaches and everybody was real cool. I was impressed by everything that they showed me. It was a good time."

The junior college defensive end visited Arkansas and California before his trip to ASU. In fact he flew to Tempe from Berkeley on Friday. When asked to compare both of his visits to those Pac-10 schools he replied: "They were about the same. Everybody was nice at both schools."

While Cook did enjoy his ASU visit, he wasn't ready to make any decisions before consulting certain people. "I can't decide like that on a visit," he remarked. "I need to go back to my school and family and talk it over. It's gonna be between Arizona State, Cal and Arkansas. It's gonna be a tough decision. I'm gonna make my decision tomorrow."

The Buccaneers of Blinn College finished with 12-0 record and finished in the top spot of the final NJCAA Football Poll of the 2006 season. Going into the championship game, Cook tallied 52 tackles and nine sacks. He was second team NJCAA All-American and was selected first team All-Conference. Cook hails from Osceola High School in Seminole, FL. He was named All-Pinellas County by the St. Petersburg Times, and was also an All-State selection as a senior.
