Calif. QB Looks for Summer Decision

Corona Centennial signal caller Matt Scott doesn't want to drag on the recruiting process. He has trimmed his list to three schools in anticipation of making a pledge in the next two weeks. There is however one Pac-10 school that could expand his narrow list before he pulls the trigger.

"Arizona State told me that they're gonna offer me based on what the other quarterback they offered decided," said the 6-3 190 Matt Scott. "So there's a chance that they may offer me soon. They've been recruiting me for a while. It's a nice place and they have a really good coaching staff."

The four-star prospect is ranked 9th nationally in his position by, and participated in the prestigious Elite 11 Camp a few weeks back. Scott is a classic dual-threat quarterback who in his junior campaign passed for 1,703 yards and 10 touchdowns, and rushed for 536 yards on 71 carries and scored seven touchdowns. "I have good accuracy and running ability," he said of his skills. "I do need to work on my footwork and passing skills. Right now I'm a better running quarterback than a passing quarterback."

Scott listed Arizona, Minnesota and Washington as his top three choices, but added "If Arizona State offered me they would be in the mix too," he commented. "I can't say how long I'll wait for an offer from them. Right now I'm just concentrating on those three schools and hopefully I'll get an offer from Arizona State." He added distance from home wouldn't be a significant factor in his decision.
