Bass to Visit ASU This Weekend

Corona (Calif.) Centennial running back Ryan Bass has put ASU at the top of his favorite list for quite some time now. Thus, when he saw that brother Ray Bass, a San Diego State defensive back, was going to play the Sun Devils, he decided to venture to Tempe on an unofficial visit. Devils Digest caught up with him to talk about his recruiting with the maroon and gold.

"Recruiting is going well with Arizona State and they still are my top school," said Ryan Bass who received a scholarship offer from the Sun Devils back in April. "I'm planning to also visit them officially before my season is over."

San Diego State (who he already visited unofficially), Louisville, Iowa State (12/3), Mississippi (9/22) and Minnesota (9/29) are the other schools the running back plans to visit. He indicated that he doesn't plan to make his commitment before taking all his official visits.

Bass has been a tear in this young 2007 season. In the first two games he has tallied 360 yards for the Huskies and six TD's. His average yards per carry is 7.35. Bass is also his team's kick returner.

The running back earned First Team All-CIF honors and all-state underclass honors after rushing for 2,351 yards on 294 carries and scoring 36 touchdowns during his junior year He benches 325 pounds, squats 445 and power cleans 295. He rushed for 2,137 yards on 255 carries (8.38 yards a carry) as a sophomore in 2005 and scored 34 touchdowns.

Bass back reports a 2.6 core GPA and will take the SAT in October.
