Erickson's Tuesday Post-Practice Quotes

After a 6-0 start, a humble but confident Erickson addressed the media Tuesday after practice. He discussed issues regarding Jamarr Robinson, Omar Bolden and Josh Barrett. He also talks about Washington's QB Jake Locker, and what he expects from him in Saturday's game.

On Jamarr Robinson's status

"Actually, Jamarr is clear; he was on the scout team. Hopefully he can help us on special teams. He was one of our better special teams' players in the spring before he got hurt. It is kind of taking some time for him to get back into it."

On Michael Marquardt's status

"Marquardt [in practice] was in and out of the rotation. As far as health he is one hundred percent."

On Omar Bolden seeing time at kick returns

"He's our backup. We're still going to do the same thing with Rudy (Burgess). But Omar eventually in this program will probably be returning kickoffs."

On Josh Barrett playing through pain

"He's holding up good, his attitude has been great. Now he's starting. He's hung in there, now he's healthy. It's like I said at the press conference, he played his best game last week against Washington State. He's still injured a little bit, but it's good to see him come back."

On Josh Barrett's fighting spirit, and his leadership

"Well, he's a captain. The players voted for him because of his leadership ability. Things weren't going real good for him, but he stepped right back out there."

On Omar Bolden's performance against Washington State University

"I thought he played well. You know, Washington State is going to attack you or anybody. They don't care who's out there, but they made some plays on him, but he made a lot of plays too."

On what ASU has to do to imitate Jake Locker as far as the scout team

"We put running backs in there at times, and we put quarterbacks in there when we throw. I don't know if you can ever get a guy that will be like that. It's like a lot of things, you won't know until you play him on Saturday. If you watch him on tape he reminds me of a young Vince Young as far as the plays that he makes."
