Sun Devils Eyeing El Camino Off. Lineman

After assembling a fine group of offensive linemen commits from the high school ranks, Arizona State is trying to also land one or two JC players in that position for their 2008 recruiting class. One player getting attention from the maroon and gold is Cedric Mack, and Devils Digest talked to him about his recruitment.

"Coach Yarber came and talked to me and the coaches a couple of weeks ago," said the 6-3 340 Cedric Mack. "They haven't offered me yet, but I really like the school. If they wanted me to come and visit I would. I'm very interested in them."

Mack's lone official visit thus far as been to Iowa State. While he calls the Cyclones "a good school", he's far from being settled on them. "I still wanna take some other visits. Oregon State and Michigan State have been recruiting me, but I don't have any visits scheduled."

Mack, who plays in the Mission JC conference in Southern California, was a unanimous first-team all-conference this season, and received the same honor in 2006. "I think I'm solid in both run blocking and pass blocking," he said of his skills.

The lineman will graduate in the spring, and has 3 years to play 2 in terms of eligibility.
