Reports: Keelan Johnson Pledges ASU

As reported here first on DevilsDigest.com Mesa (Ariz.) safety Keelan Johnson pledged Friday evening to the Sun Devils. Johnson de-commited from Nebraska who he committed to in the fall.

The 6-0 200 Keelan Johnson collected a total of 16 touchdowns for the Jackrabbits. He rushed for 761 yards (avg. 8.27 per carry) and 11 TD's. He tallied 324 yards on 19 catches and two scores. On defense he registered 59 total tackles, three interceptions, two of which were returned for TD's. He also had a punt return for TD.

He scored five TD's (both on offense and defense) in a 50-0 win against Central this season. Johnson reports a 40-time of 4.42.

"Being close to home is a big part, He said in a previous interview. "Before I really didn't care, but now I'm thinking I'd be better off here."

With a GPA of 2.8 and a score of 1070 on his SAT Johnson is academically qualified. The defensive back is ASU's 26th known commitment of the 2008 recruiting class.
