"I wanted to commit on the trip," said Walker. "But I need to take care of my schoolwork before Arizona State offers me. Coach Erickson said that he really wanted me to come to Arizona State, and if they offered me I'd probably commit right away."
Walker added that either improving his GPA or test score should be sufficient for him to academically qualify and receive that Sun Devil offer.
Thus, it should probably come as no surprise that Walker was most impressed with ASU's academic support program.
"The way they're serious about academics and all the help they give you really caught my attention," admitted Walker.
The Redlands athlete was hosted by ASU running back Shaun DeWitty, and indicated that he thoroughly enjoyed his Tempe trip. "I got to visit all the facilities, the dorms, meet all the coaches," said Walker. "The stadium and weight room were really nice. Everything was really nice and Shaun showed me a good time."
Walker has scheduled trips to Fresno State on Jan. 9th, Idaho on Jan. 16th, and Oregon State on the 23rd of that month and all three programs have offered him scholarships. Nonetheless, he stated that: "If ASU offers I'm probably not gonna even go on those trips."
