"They talked to me about how they are going to use me in the offense. They said I could play running back, slot wide receiver…just move me around to different positions so I can make plays. That's how I played in high school. They think I would be a good addition for their offense and I think they have a potential to be a very good team."
Middlebrooks stated that since Arizona State has been recruiting him for a while, there wasn't much said during that visit that was new to him. Nonetheless, that fact certainly didn't detract from the experience itself.
"That visit did change things for me a little," Middlebrooks admitted. "I do have a good feeling about how Arizona State feels about me and how they will use me in their offense."
According to Middlebrooks the Arizona coaches were slated to visit him on Tuesday, but that has now been pushed to Friday. Naturally, that has affected his timetable for a decision.
"I'm probably going decide the same day after that (Arizona) visit," Middlebrooks commented. "I'm not going to wait until next week. It will be good to get this decision over with.
"I'm looking for a place where I can really see myself comfortable for the next four years, and the place that I would benefit from the most."
In his senior year, Middlebrooks collected 1347 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns for the 8-3 Barons, and he averaged over 8.5 yards a carry. He also caught 22 passes for 316 yards and four scores. He's been clocked running a 10.48 in the 100 meters and a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash.
