Lubick leaves for Duke

Arizona State's Assistant Head Coach, safeties coach and recruiting coordinator is leaving the Sun Devils to assume the role of passing game coordinator at Duke University.

Lubick arrived at ASU three years ago when Dennis Erickson became the Sun Devils' head coach. While Lubick served as secondary coach at Oregon State under Erickson during the 1999 and 2000 seasons, most of his coaching career (mainly as WR's coach) was spent on the other side of the ball.

Ultimately, his desire to coach on the offensive side of the ball, possibly being elevated to offensive coordinator is a few years swayed him to accept the offer from Duke. Additionally, he has close friends on the Blue Devils' staff.

While at ASU Lubick was responsible for landing the majority of the sun Devils signees, highlighted by five-star and freshman All-American linebacker Vontaze Burfict. He specialized in the Inland Empire region of Southern California and Colorado.

Lubick is the second Sun Devil assistant to depart in recent weeks, following wide receivers coach Eric Yarber.
