Saturday's game was not very eventful, but here are what we feel the top three players were.
1. Nic Grigsby: Grigsby broke out in a big way, scoring three touchdowns and rushing for over 100 yards on only 11 carries.
If Grigsby can put up close to 100 yards every game, the offense is going to be much better for it. He is explosive and adds a major element, as was evident on Saturday.
2. Greg Nwoko: If Grigsby is explosive, Nwoko is pure power. The Citadel just had no answer for him, as two of his seven carries went for touchdowns.
Nwoko will likely get about ten carries each game and considering he looks even faster than last year, we expect solid numbers and a possibly expanded role.
3. Justin Washington: Washington is rapidly becoming one of the best players on the team and even Mike Stoops agrees.
He was unblockable on Saturday, as he finished with a sack and five tackles. As Washington gets better, the rest of the defense will have a much easier job and it will continue to succeed. Washington is definitely a star in the making.
