Overall talent increasing

As the NFL season begins, the impact of Mike Stoops is obvious.

As the NFL season begins, the impact of Mike Stoops is obvious.

For starters, Rob Gronkowski is alright making noise by reaching the end zone twice. His brother, Chris, has also scored a touchdown.

Nate Ness has a chance to play for the Seahawks sooner than later.

Eben Britton is a starter and one of the mainstays on the offensive line.

So what does this all mean?

The increasing number of Arizona wildcats in the NFL means that the talent Stoops is bringing in is easily at the highest level it has been in quite some time.

Now that the team has made a bowl game, that level of talent is only going to increase. Instead of a player or two going to the league sporadically, Arizona is going to have a more consistent flow.

One look at this year's roster and the amount of NFL prospects is closer to ten. The linebackers, Robert Golden, Ricky Elmore and Brooks Reed, Nick Foles, Juron Criner, Dan Buckner, etc.

Arizona is a team that is going to compete with some of the better teams in the country for the sole reason that the coaching staff is bringing in some of the better players.

It may take a bit before the Wildcats get on the level of USC or other top ten teams in terms of overall talent, but the skill level is certainly increasing.

Eventually that talent is going to bring the UA to a point where wins are expected.
