As Arizona fans saw the Wildcats winning, expectations kept rising.
That is why, for many, the loss against Oregon State was disappointing.
However, Mike Stoops still has plenty of confidence in his team right now.
In fact, he is just fine with where the team is at with a 4-1 record.
"We've played good football teams; it's not a disgrace being 4-1 with the schedule we've played," Stoops said.
Having an off game is an inevitability and the UA showed that this past weekend.
"It's just impossible; it's just not the way it is," Stoops said. "I think maybe you play at your extreme three or four times a year.
"I think people might say otherwise or say I'm being ridiculous, but you can't do that every weekend. Mentally, psychologically, it takes a lot out of each particular game in preparation and being on edge; it's difficult to do."
With the Pac-10 being so strong, it will take a major effort for any team to run the table.
"I don't care what team you are, to go undefeated you're going to have to have some breaks and win a game you don't play well enough to win," Stoops said.
"It'll be different because of the totality of playing good teams every week. I think that's the biggest concern for everybody, that there aren't any easy games."
